Produced in 2012 by the Chaves County Tourism Council, designed by Juliana Halvorson, drawn by Jim Sexe–City of Roswell Engineering Department, and paid for by Roswell Lodgers’ Tax, this points of interest and lodging map provides visitors with a comprehensive guide to 76 places within the area. On the reverse side of the map, shown next, are the area’s major points of interest for residents and visitors, with further information provided, including their websites and contact information. Among them are five museums: Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art; Historical Center for Southeastern New Mexico; McBride Museum on the New Mexico Military Institute campus in the center of town; the International UFO Museum; Roswell Museum and Art Center; and the Walker Aviation Museum and Research Center located south of Roswell at the Roswell International Air Center. All but one of those museums and most of the other points of interest shown are free of charge to the public, including the only free zoo in New Mexico.
